Blood Money

As a curate in St Leonard's on Sea, back in the 1980's I was chairman of the local LIFE group - a pro-life agency made up of doctors, nurses, counselors and clergy committed to offering practical help and advice on alternatives to those who feel abortion is their only option. I remain deeply committed to a pro-life position on biblical, theological as well as humanitarian grounds. There is no such thing as an unwanted child. And there is no such thing as a life not worthy to be lived.

The scriptures are clear and unequivocal: Life begins at conception not birth and abortion is forbidden. It is the wilful and deliberate taking of the life of a human being created in the image of God.

David Ould alerted me to a trailer for an upcoming documentary made in the US. The very brief graphic images in this trailer should not detract you from having a look.

This from Cranmer:

"The film, entitled ‘Blood Money’, includes numerous interviews with leaders of the pro-Life movement, in which they lay out the facts about the abortion industry and the effects that abortions have on women.

It is shown how the pro-abortion lobby has created an abortion industry in the US. One interviewee, who used to run an abortion clinic in Dallas, Texas (and is now a pro-Life speaker) describes how teenagers were groomed to have abortions.

In the UK, organisations such as BPAS, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service carried out 55,000 abortions last year. This is about one quarter of the number of abortions carried out in England and Wales last year. And 92 per cent of abortions carried out by BPAS were on behalf of the NHS, so paid for by the tax payer.

Blood money indeed."
