 Let Our People GO !!
I urge you to advise Israel to allow the peaceful "Gaza Freedom Flotilla" of 10 ships and 1,000 peaceful people to proceed to Gaza to offload humanitarian supplies and to draw international attention to Israel’s siege of Gaza so that that siege will be lifted. I demand that you reverse your critical stance toward the Freedom Flotilla and support the Flotilla instead. Secretary Clinton has said that the Flotilla is "provocative", "dangerous", and "unnecessary". But what is more provocative, dangerous and unnecessary than Israel’s occupation of Palestine for 60 years !?!?! You at the U.S. State Department should be spending your time lifting the Israeli siege of Gaza and granting the Palestinians in general their full freedom.
By the Law of the Sea, the Freedom Flotilla will not be in Israeli territorial waters, but will be sailing to Gaza and will be in Gaza territorial waters. By no stretch of the imagination are Gaza waters in the State of Israel, or part of the "sovereignty" of Israel.

Instead of disparaging the Freedom Flotilla and, in a sense, giving Israel the green light to attack the Flotilla, Secretary Clinton should be protective of the Freedom Flotilla, and advise Israel not to use force against the Flotilla. There are U.S. citizens aboard the ship Audacity of Hope, and Secretary Clinton, instead of warning them not to go, should take responsibility for their safety and make sure that no harm comes to these, our fellow citizens, nor to any other passenger on those ships and boats.

On Friday, June 24, 2011, the State Department implied that Freedom Flotilla passengers may be subject to fines and jail for providing support for the Hamas, a group duly elected by the Palestinian people, yet designated by the U.S. as a foreign terrorist organization. But Israel has committed far more and worse terrorist acts against the Palestinians than vice versa. The Israelis misuse u.s.-made F-16s, Apache helicopter gunships, naval bombardment, drones, illegal white phosphorous (burns to the bone and keeps burning), and countless other weapons (many "experimental") against the relatively defenseless Palestinian people in terrorist acts abhorred by the international community.

Force by Israel will not be appropriate nor necessary against these peaceful, unarmed people coming by ship to Gaza. If you’ll remember, because the State Department said nothing, the 2010 Freedom Flotilla was met with violence from Israel --- Israel killed 9 unarmed Turkish civilians in an act of terrorism condemned by the world. Any blood shed will be on your hands if you fail to warn Israel not to use force this year. You at the U.S. State Department should be making all efforts to lift the Israeli siege against Gaza, and to grant the Palestinians in general their full freedom.

Sincerely yours,
Daniel Stone
