The new Defence Secretary is Philip Hammond. I am delighted that Philip has been appointed as he is also our local MP. I have known Philip for many years and we have met at civic functions in Runnymede on numerous occasions. However, I confess that I have not kept a record of our meetings and I can give categorical assurances that, however much I might wish to, I will not be one of his advisers, officially or unofficially.
