International Refugee Day Seminar

The Palestine Return Centre sponsored a seminar in Parliament to mark International Refugee Day (20th June) on the 18th June 2012. According to the United Nations, the largest refugee community in the world are the Palestinians.

International Refugee Day is an annual event launched by the United Nations to highlight the plight of millions of refugees worldwide who are forced to flee their homes.

It is organized in partnership with the Council for European Palestinian Relations (CEPR) and other NGOs, focusing on the legal, political and humanitarian aspects of the plight of Palestinian refugees.

Five MPs, who visit Palestine regularly, sometimes as members of PRC delegation to the region, were amongst the panelists. Joining them was an UNRWA representative and members of the refugee community.
